Participating in the INCLUSIVE FASHION SHOW@sjemarche / Holding a fashion show to connect children with intellectual disabilities with local children - We want to create a world where everyone can enjoy clothing -

Ma Mere will be held by the SJE Marche Executive Committee on Saturday, May 25th.
We will be providing special support for the "Inclusive Fashion Show".

This fashion show will bring together children with intellectual disabilities and local children to create a real fashion show, with the aim of promoting understanding of diversity between both groups and among the audience.
By working together, the two companies will work towards creating a world where everyone can enjoy clothing.

The theme of the spring 2024 market will be "Kizuki's Marche."
As the main event
We will be holding an "Inclusive Fashion Show."
Not only people with disabilities but also local residents and students participated.
Let's all create a fun fashion show together.
It will liven up the venue.

For participants and spectators
We hope to create a fashion show that will inspire new ideas.

People with intellectual disabilities and local children will come together to present a show to you all.
Come and experience their energy and lovely smiles. We look forward to your participation.
Additionally, Nao Saito, the first fashion model with Down Syndrome to take part in Paris Fashion Week, is scheduled to appear as a model in this fashion show.
Nao's motivation for becoming a model began 11 years ago when she participated in the Ma Mere fashion show for the first time in her life.

[Comment from Kazunori Fukaya, President and CEO of Ma Mer Co., Ltd.]
Since our founding, we have been introducing top-class children's fashion from around the world to Japan with the concept of "providing children with authenticity and nurturing their sensibilities."
We are delighted to be able to collaborate with SJE Marche.
We hope to create a society where children, whatever their position or circumstances, can find their own dreams and freely express their individuality.

[Comment from Tomoo Takeda, CEO of SJE Marche]
We are very much looking forward to creating our new challenge, the "Inclusive Fashion Show," together with Mamer.
This will be our first time producing a show, as we have only ever produced events up until now, but we want to do our best to convey our vision and create a place where these wonderful models can shine.
The market also has a wonderful atmosphere and you can make new discoveries.
We hope you will all come and visit us.

[Comment from fashion model Nao Saito]
It all started when I was 9 years old and participated in a fashion show wearing one of Ma Mere's costumes.
Even if you have a disability, you are free to have dreams.
Nao has discovered her dream of becoming a model.
My dream is to become a model that can make everyone smile.
The other day I went to Paris Fashion Week, believing that if you speak your dreams out loud, they will come true.

■ What is SJE Marche? ■
SJE Marche supports the social advancement of people with intellectual disabilities, such as Down syndrome.
In this stylish market where anyone can easily participate, people with disabilities work as store clerks, which naturally leads to conversations between visitors and them.
This is a market event where mutual understanding can be achieved in a natural way, rather than forcing understanding of diversity.
The theme for Spring 2024 is "Kizuki's Marche."
We devised this theme to create a market where people can challenge their various unconscious preconceptions and gain new perspectives.
