Restaurant of Living Creatures - Take a look at the food and lifestyle of familiar creatures ♪ -

We held a workshop called "Ikimono Restaurant" where participants could explore and learn about the connections between living things and their immediate environment.

There are also wild creatures such as birds, butterflies, and dragonflies that live around the store.
The connection between them and the surrounding environment of the store,
Explore from the perspective of "What do they eat to survive?"
It's a learning workshop.

After the exploration,
While making your own paper craft of wild birds,
We will introduce the wild birds and their connections to life around the store.
This helped customers become more familiar with the environment around the store.

July 24th was a sunny day.

Our instructor, Mr. Ogimoto Hiroshi, taught us interesting facts about living creatures in an easy-to-understand and fun way.
Sparrows are a common and familiar sight in our daily lives.
It's actually a bird that originates from Africa!
Sparrows often take sand baths,
The reason for this is that they originally inhabited areas of semi-arid Africa where grass plants grow.
Sparrows apparently survive by eating catnip and dandelions.

As I listened to the story,
We also spotted the endangered species, the Spotted Butterfly and the Japanese Rat Snake, in Tokyo!

Why is the Spotted Butterfly an endangered species ?
The reason is that they normally live under fallen leaves,
This is because people in Tokyo sweep up fallen leaves 🍂.

I was also surprised to see a Japanese rat snake in a park in Tokyo.

After the exploration,
While making your own paper craft of wild birds,
We hope you will become familiar with the wild birds and the environment around the store.

It was a lot of fun and we got to learn about the creatures that are close to us!
Let's study what living things eat and live every day.
